Catholic School's Day.

On a lovely Tuesday afternoon it was Catholic School’s Day and we invited St Joseph’s, Orakei to our special school.  We invited St Joseph Orakei so we could celebrate Catholic School’s Day with them.

At 11 o’clock we had a wonderful mass at church. After church we went to Lunch, we all shared our lunch with the St Joseph people. After we ate we went and played at the senior playground. Soon after the bell rang we all went to line up and waited for Mrs Williams to come and call us to go into the hall. We went to the hall and sat down on the mats and the mats were on the floor and they were brown, green, and also red.

Catherine started us with a prayer and told us to say the sign of the cross and sing the school prayer. After we sang the school prayer Catherine told Room 7 to come up and sing and the song “Let it Go”. When they finished singing the St Joseph’s people came carefully to the stage and sang “Count on me” and they were doing actions with the song. After they sang they came and sat down on the mats and some of the people sat down on the chairs. Some of the songs came from Room 7 and some of the songs came from the St Joseph’s people.

After St Joseph’s it was our class to go up, so we all got up and went to the stage and our song it was the cup song. I was very scared and really shy when we went to the stage to sing. When Miss G said “go” we all started clapping and singing. When we finished singing and clapping we went back and sat down on the mats, everyone was cheering.

Sione Dale said “Can Room 7 come and sing Mali Mali Mai”. Room 7 got up to the stage and they sang their song and we all sang along with them. Mrs Tui told us to sing the African Farewell Song and while we were singing this St Joseph’s got up and left the hall waving at us all. When we were the only people left in the hall we all stood up and went to our classes to get our bag and get ready to go home. We had an awesome time at the concert celebrating Catholic School’s Day.

Maths Reflection.

This year I learnt in maths my Time Tables and also I learnt how to get faster in Math Whizz. In Math Whizz I can learn games and also video games.

In Terrific Triangles we are learning to split numbers into parts instead of counting on. I don't like maths that much because it is really hard and also Xtra Maths takes us 5 minutes.

I have enjoyed in maths doing bar graphs and also doing time tables and practising doing addition and subtraction.

For Addition and Subtraction I am on Stage 4.

My Pencil.

The pencil that I am going to talk about is made out of wood. You can create with it and write with it and also it might have a rubber.

The pencil is as thin as a pen or felt. You can write with it and draw with it like a paint brush.

The pencil is as hard as a rock and as sharp as a thorn or a needle. It can be blunt and make a smudgy mess. Some pencils can be as colourful as a rainbow or as long as a wire. My pencil is pointy like thorns.

My drawing friend looks has a sharp lead and is so long. The pencil is so easy to hold. My learning tool can be found in the warehouse and it can be seen in my pocket.

My drawing friend does creating and also does some writing for me. We use it for our homework and many people use it in their right hand and some people practise with their left hand.

My colourful pencil is special because it is sharp and you can actually rub my writing out when I make a mistake.

My Mother.

The women who loves me is an awesome mother and she is kind, loving and also she helps me do my homework. She is a good mother, she supports me like sending me to school.

She has black hair, as black as a crayon. She has brown eyes, as brown as a chocolate. She has red lips as red as a jumper and her skin colour is as brown as a tiger. She acts like an human. She likes people making friends and people how helps her. She dislikes people who disturb her and people who are annoying her. She is good at making friends with other people.

The best thing about my mum is her cooking, she likes cooking pancakes and the other thing she likes to cook is sausages. She is the best mother in the world.
