Narrative Writing ( The Troll )

“ I will sing you a song,“ exclaimed Poppy “
Do you mind, I am trying to sleep“.
“ Darling please leave me alone..“ I sang walking towards her.
“ Can you just show respect and listen to my song“..
I was frustrated and went back to sleep.

Not long after that I woke up once again and said.“ Can you go and sing somewhere else “ I scolded, “No. “ Poppy exclaimed.
“ Mommy finger, Mommy finger, where are you….” she sang walking towards the darkness on the other side. Poppy could see me blocking my ears, trying to sleep and also moving around. While she was singing I saw these wonderful underwater creatures joining in her singing.  They all moved and undulate to the music.

I sat there trying to not listen  to her singing but all I did was look at these wonderful creatures there were. At the end of the worst song I have ever heard in my life, “ May I use your Ukulele? “, so she handed me her untuned ukulele, well guess I chucked the ukulele into the Fire that I finished making. I was so happy and glad that she wasn’t singing anymore.

Poppy stood there like an unhappy person. We finally went to sleep!!!

Weekly Activity - Activity 3 ( Day 7 )

Learn - This year two new sports are being added to the Paralympic Games. They are canoeing and triathlon. In the triathlon the athletes must swim 750 metres, cycle for 20 kilometres, and then run for 5 kilometres. Paralympic athletes may also compete in other sports including archery, boccia, football, judo, powerlifting, rowing, sailing, swimming, sitting volleyball, track cycling, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair tennis. To learn more about all of the Paralympic sports, please visit the 2016 Paralympic Games website.

Imagine that you are on the Paralympic Committee and you have been asked to create one new sport to add to the competition for this year. Use your awesome imagination to design a brand new Paralympic sport. Please remember that some of the athletes will not be able to walk or run and others may be blind or deaf. On your blog, please write:

The name of the sport that hasn't been used in the Olympics is Squash. Squash is a racket sport played by two or four players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. The rule of this game is the players must alternate in striking the ball with their racket and hit the ball onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. Second rule is that after they score the only have 5 minutes to warm up for the next round. The last rule is that the ball may be warmed up by on of the players at the beginning of the game.

Thanks and have a great holiday!!!

Weekly Activity - Activity 2 ( Day 7 )

Learn - It is very expensive for each of the Paralympic athletes to fly from New Zealand to Rio de Janeiro to compete.  Most athletes have to fundraise in order to make the money that they need to go on the big trip. Recently, Harvey Norman announced that they will be helping to raise funds for the New Zealand Paralympic team. What could you do to help raise funds to support our amazing Paralympic athletes? On your blog, list 2 different ways in which you, your family or friends could raise money to support the athletes.

The first thing I will do will ask our Parish Community if they can fun raise for the New Zealand Paralympics team to go to their destination which is Rio De Janeiro to compete in the Olympics. This is very important for them to get this kind of opportunity to compete, this is what I will say to the Parish Community of Glen Innes if we had to Fun raise for this kind of thing.

The second thing I will do is that I will go out there and sell things such as new/old things, books and etc. Once I recieve as much money as I can get I will give it straight to the New Zealand Paralymic Team so they can go over there to win a Gold Medal for their supporters.

Weekly Activity - Activity 1 ( Day 7 )

Learn: At the moment the most famous para-cycling team in New Zealand is comprised of two female athletes – Emma Foy and Laura Thompson. Emma is blind but Laura is not. Together they work as an amazing team. Imagine that you were asked to compete in a tandem cycling event and you had to choose one person to compete with. Who would it be? On your blog, tell us who you would compete with and why. If it was me, I would choose my son, Aronui because he’s pretty fast and very funny. He would make me laugh as we biked along and would be very supportive and encouraging! I know that I could trust him to be a good teammate. Who would you choose?

I would choose my Dad, because he is a person who is fast and a person who is fit. My Dad has really fast legs that will make him go faster than another athlete. In the Olympics they ride really light bikes and that will make us go fast which is a great material to use.

Thank and have a great holiday!!

Weekly Activity - Activity 3 ( Day 6 )

Learn - Imagine that you are sitting in the crowd at the opening ceremonies for the Rio Olympics this August. The ceremony has just started and all of the Olympic athletes are parading around the stadium in their uniforms when all of a sudden…

In your blog, write an ending to this short story. It should be approximately 10-20 sentences long.

The ceremony has just started and all of the Olympic athletes are parading around the stadium in their uniforms when all of a sudden everyone heard Beyonce singing in the middle of the massive/huge field. I was so happy that she wanted to start off the Olympics with a great song. Then later on we heard that there was a gunfire around the area. Everyone was a quiet like a little mice. We all heard the gunfire coming closer and closer to the stadium. That moment everyone got out of their seats and ran to the field where all the athletes were doing there little parade. Everyone was freaked out that there were gunfire's especially Beyonce. Beyonce's security came and dragged her out of this huge disaster. All of a sudden the Gunfire stopped, everyone were full of excitement that the Police of Rio/Brazil shot there people who started this situation.

Thanks and have a great holiday!

Weekly Activity - Activity 2 ( Day 6 )

Learn: The opening ceremonies for every Olympic Games must include formal speeches, a parade of athletes, songs and dances that showcase the culture of the host country. Follow this link to watch the highlights of opening ceremonies for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England.

In the opening ceremony for the London Olympics there were a number of famous English people including the Queen, the Spice Girls, David Bowie, U2, the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney. Imagine that we were going to host the Olympics here in New Zealand in 2024 and you were invited to be on the committee that decides who is invited to participate in the opening ceremonies. As a member of the group you must choose one of the following people to be in the opening ceremony: Richie McCaw (rugby player), Lorde (singer), Kane Williamson (cricket player), Maria Tutaia (netball player), John Key (prime minister of New Zealand) or Shaun Johnson (league player). On your blog, tell us who you think is the best person to choose and explain why you think that they are the best choice!

I choose Shaun Johnson because I know that is the most successful Rugby League Game, When I went to his game in Mt Smart Stadium he was the only person that shared the ball and also being fair with the other players. He would be a great person to give advice to people if they had a chance to be a great/successful league player.

Thanks and have a great holiday!!
