Weekly Activity - Activity 1 ( Day 7 )

Learn: At the moment the most famous para-cycling team in New Zealand is comprised of two female athletes – Emma Foy and Laura Thompson. Emma is blind but Laura is not. Together they work as an amazing team. Imagine that you were asked to compete in a tandem cycling event and you had to choose one person to compete with. Who would it be? On your blog, tell us who you would compete with and why. If it was me, I would choose my son, Aronui because he’s pretty fast and very funny. He would make me laugh as we biked along and would be very supportive and encouraging! I know that I could trust him to be a good teammate. Who would you choose?

I would choose my Dad, because he is a person who is fast and a person who is fit. My Dad has really fast legs that will make him go faster than another athlete. In the Olympics they ride really light bikes and that will make us go fast which is a great material to use.

Thank and have a great holiday!!

  1. I am sure that you two would make a great tandem cycling team! I also think that your idea to use a light bike is a great one. From what I understand the New Zealand Olympic cycling team uses very light bikes for their competition. Did you know that the average cost of a competitive racing bike is between $20 000 and $30 000? Crazy 'eh?!

I'm really looking forward to reading your next post. I can't believe that you almost completed the entire journey and it's only Wednesday. WOW!

    Cheers, Rachel

  2. Thanks for the comment and WOW is that how much one bike costs.
