Weekly Activity - Activity 1 ( Day 6 )

Entertaining the crowd!!!

Activity 1 - For all Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, the athletes from each country must wear a special uniform. The uniforms change each year. Look at the 3 pictures posted below. They are pictures of the uniforms that our New Zealand Olympic teams wore in 2012, 2008 and 2004. For this activity, you are asked to rank the uniforms from best (#1) to worst (#3). On your blog post your rankings and provide a brief explanation of why you ranked the uniforms in that order.

I think the best one was the New Zealand Team Uniform - Beijing Olympics 2008, the reason why I think this is the best is because it has some maori patterns which represent our culture and also our land.

The second best was the New Zealand Olympics team uniform - Athens Olympics 2004, the reason why I think this is the second best one is because there is a design of the Maori Leaf which is on the side of the shirts. This also represents New Zealand and their land.

The one that didn't impress me is the New Zealand Olympics team - London Olympics 2012, I think this is the worst one is because there is no texture or design of any Maori Pattern but I like the jackets that are worn.

Thanks and have a great holiday!!

  1. Joshua, I really like the way that you have so carefully considered the options and then made your choices. You clearly gave it a lot of thought. Awesome.

I, too, like the jackets that the athletes in 2012 wore but I'm not too sure about this year's uniform. Have you seen it? They just unveiled the design a few days ago and published an article about it in the Herald. I'll put a link for it here so that you can check it out:

What do you think of the 2016 uniforms?

    Cheers, Rachel

    1. Thanks for the comment, I don't really like the gear they are wearing this year because there is no design of a maori pattern to tell everyone in Rio that we are new Zealanders!!
